General Purpose: The Psychiatrist provides medication management and therapeutic services as needed to identify, diagnose, and treat patients. They will see patients via direct patient care and as a consultant to Primary Care Providers for acute, chronic, and complex conditions. The Psychiatrist will support the Behavioral Health Department on implementing cognitive and psychological assessments. As a member of STRIDE's medical staff, this Physician would be instrumental in supporting both Primary Care and integrated Behavioral Health services. As a burgeoning program, the Psychiatrist will help develop an efficient and robust model to optimize service delivery to the wide range of psychiatric conditions within STRIDE's patient population.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exemplary clinical services within the qualifications and experience of Physician and adhere to the standards and principles of medical ethics of the American Medical Association, and all recognized associations or accrediting boards concerned with Physician's area of medical specialty.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments using the bio-psycho-social model.
  • Identify, diagnose, and clarify psychiatric conditions according to the DSM-5.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans through multi-disciplinary collaboration with Primary Care Providers, Behavioral Health Providers, and other professionals.
  • Work with leadership to develop a model to offer chart reviews and consultation for medical providers.
  • Initiate and manage psychopharmacologic treatments.
  • Order and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic test results as needed.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families when clinically appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with medical assistants to streamline clinical workflow and optimize the patient's experience of care.
  • Support advanced practice providers in the provision of psychiatric treatment/expansion of the model at STRIDE.
  • Provide clinical services in person at multiple STRIDE locations and via telehealth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

* Please note, the pay range listed for this position is a scale. Pay will be calculated based on years of experience in healthcare and/or related to the specific qualifications of the role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Board certified Psychiatrist in active and good standing with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
  • Bilingual candidates preferred but not required
  • Preferred experience working with diverse and multi-cultural patient populations
  • Preferred experience working in integrated care settings
  • Preferred experience working with co-occurring substance use disorders and/or Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)/Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) services
  • Preferred experience working with individuals throughout the lifespan
  • Preferred experience working with cognitive or neuropsychological testing in a primary care medical setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency, including the ability to drive between clinics to provide services as needed
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data to determine the appropriate services needed for patients
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations
  • Ability to handle HIPAA sensitive information ethically and responsibly
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patients, employees, and business information

Working environment/physical activities:
  • Office environment within a clinical setting. Moves about the office environment and to other locations. Moves objects up to 25lbs and 50lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse, and keyboard.
