Job Details

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
  • Provide strategic tax advice to senior management and other departments.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all tax filings.
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for business operations and transactions.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation changes and assess the impact on the company.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other business ventures from a tax perspective.
  • Conduct tax risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and mentor the tax team, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Travel occasionally for work at clients’ offices, meetings, and seminars.
  • Work occasional overtime throughout the year.
  • Participate actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts to support the A&A Department with larger clients.
  • Serve as a resource for tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff on specific tax issues and questions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
  • At least 2 years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
  • Minimum of 40 hours of continuing education required each year to maintain and develop technical and business skills.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax planning, compliance, and strategy in a corporate environment.
  • Proven track record of managing tax audits and disputes.
