Scale Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Process chemical trucks coming into and leaving the plant.
  • Directing trucks to the proper location for loading/unloading within the plant.
  • Communicate with production department to notify of incoming product.
  • Greet customers and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner and direct them to the appropriate individual if necessary.
  • Keep area around the truck scales, building and scale house clean and presentable at all times.
  • Document and record daily truck volume.
  • Operate by current plant Standard Operating Procedure contents for designated area and update as needed.
  • Inspect and grade all grain delivered to the company to ensure that grain is of acceptable quality and meets specifications as outlined in the purchase contract and reject shipment of grain not meeting standards.
  • Collect additional composite samples as needed for onsite and offsite testing.
  • Enter all customer and product data into grain receiving software.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to be personable and work well with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to greet customers in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve alone as well as with others.
  • Previous experience in grain grading/receiving is beneficial but not required.

Work environment/physical demands:
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use; frequent telephone use and some lifting or moving objects up to 10lbs.
Other job duties could be assigned as needed.
