Current JCPS Mental Health Practitioners who wish to transfer into this position must click HERE to be considered for this transfer. Transfer requests for this position WILL NOT be considered after 9/19/2024. For more information regarding the JCTA Teacher Transfer Process, please refer to Article 16 from the JCTA contract. At this time, current teachers applying for a transfer will be considered to fill the position in February of 2025.
Experience credit for this position is based on MHP credentialed experience. Teaching experience will not count towards steps given for salary placement.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes the mental health wellness of students by assuming responsibility for providing evidence-based interventions at the individual and group level, engaging families, coordinating with community partners, and providing training, collaboration, and consultation for school personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One of the following credentials, licenses, or permits: KY(EPSB) credential in School Social Work, School Counseling, or School Psychology; or Fully Licensed Professional Counselor; or Licensed Clinical Social Worker; or KY Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; or Licensed Professional Art Therapist; or Kentucky Licensed Clinical Psycologist
  • Ability to Work well with people
  • Effective communication skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three (3) years successful experience providing mental health and/or behavioral support with school-aged children
  • Experience in crisis intervention and counseling
  • Experience working with children exposed to trauma
  • Experience in a diverse workplace
