We are seeking a

Manager– Federal Tax Audits

to join our team at the Nissan Americas Headquarters in

Franklin, TN .

Job Requirements ·Lead and manage all stages of U.S. federal tax audits and controversy, including corporate income tax, employment tax, withholding tax, and excise tax audits, for the various industries in which Nissan operates (automotive, financing and insurance) ·Develop and implement comprehensive audit defense plans in collaboration with federal tax compliance and tax planning teams, internal departments and external advisors ·Prepare and present clear and concise explanations of tax positions to IRS auditors ·Gather, review and deliver information to the IRS in response to information and document requests, including working with many internal information providers ·Attend regular meetings with the IRS and be the main contact person with IRS agents ·Assist with negotiating resolutions of tax controversies with IRS Appeals ·Work with the federal tax compliance and planning teams to research and analyze complex tax issues ·Work with the federal tax compliance and planning teams to build audit-ready files to support the company’s tax positions ·Work with the tax accounting team to ensure uncertain tax positions are correctly reported in the financial statements ·Implement tools to organize and track progress of audits, deadlines, deliverables etc. ·Keep management and other key stakeholders informed on federal tax audit matters ·Keep the state income tax compliance and audit teams informed of federal tax audit topics that may have an impact on state tax positions ·Build strong work relationships with key internal stakeholders (Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, IT, Legal, R&D, Purchasing, HR etc.) ·Stay current on changes in federal tax laws and IRS audit procedures ·Manage the performance and spend with external audit advisors ·Maintain the highest ethical standards, encourage open and transparent communication, promote diversity and reward employees’ initiatives that bring value to Nissan and the tax organization Minimum Experience and Requirements ·Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting ·Advanced degree or professional certification preferred (CPA, LLM, JD, MBA, MA, MS) ·10+ years of related experience at professional level ·Relevant experience working directly with the IRS ·Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills

Keys to Success 1 - Organizational skills. A lot of volatility – on any given day the schedule can change based on the IRS. Tight negotiated turn around time with IRS very deadline given, would love this person to create a dashboard for tracking.

Verbal and written skills are critical – primary drafter of responses to IRS, can read questions, and know how to short and sweet responses, writing and research skills They sit with the IRS every week – 20 agents, administrative calls, have to be able to manage the room, have a strong relationship 3 Manage conflict, manage tough conversations – about 2% of the time. They do a lot of bridge building with the IRS, make relationships, they have done well at this 4 - Will lead/drive organization for information. 5 - No fearful of automation
