General Description: Arora Engineers, LLC., provides design and construction services for MEP, fireprotection and alarms, and low voltage/special systems for aviation, transportation, educational,commercial, and institutional facilities.

Overall Responsibility: This position will be responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing,and coordinating engineering projects, as well as the overall design and delivery of servicesrelated to design and construction of electrical systems. The Electrical Engineer shall reportdirectly to the Electrical Practice Lead.

Essential Functions:
* Functions as Electrical Engineer on assignments.
* Ensures coordinated design on projects. Coordination will be required with in-house team members(mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and alarm, and special systems) and third party designers(architects, civil, structural engineers, etc.).
* Contributes to estimation of projects, planning, and construction feasibility including the
development of project scope, scheduling, and budget.
* Develops design drawings and technical specifications from schematic design to
completion.
* Performs site surveys including survey of existing conditions and site observations duringconstruction.
* Attends and contributes to electrical team, client, and project meetings. Participates ininternal project meetings.
* Participates in the monitoring of project production and schedules to ensure projects arecompleted on schedule and within budget.
* Ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards of excellence.
* Client-facing liaison between owners, clients, prime contractors, and authorities havingjurisdiction.
* Assures Arora's electrical and BIM standards are followed. Assures client's design standards aremet.
* Ensures project design and construction issues are addressed and resolved to the benefit andsatisfaction of the owner/client.

Secondary Functions:
* Related duties as assigned.
* Supports applicable requests as needed.
* Lends support to all business areas outside of technical discipline focus as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET accredited University. Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) examinations. Seven to twelve years of experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility.

  • Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Valid state driver's license (any in US).
  • In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
  • Ability to meet worksite requirements including criminal background checks and TSA threat assessment evaluations.

NEEDED SKILLS:

* Understanding of architecture, engineering, and construction concepts.
* Understanding of multi-discipline systems and installation including mechanical,
plumbing, fire protection and alarms, and low voltage/communications/data work.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
* Strong knowledge of the applicable Codes and Standards as it pertains to electrical engineering, including but not limited to the National Electrical Code, NFPA, and ASHRAE 90.1.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Detail and safety oriented.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with fellow employees, clients, and vendors.
* Proven record of high-quality engineering design including decision making, flexibility, problem-solving, reasoning, strategic thinking, and accountability.

REMOTE WORK:
This position is a full-time remote position. Preference will be given to qualified individuals residing near the following locations: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New York City, New York, Boston, Massachusetts, Atlanta, Georgia, and Dallas, Texas. As a fully remote employee, travel to project sites throughout the country is required. Potential candidates shall have exceptionalcommunication skills, be self-motivated, and able to successfully complete projects on time and under budget regardless of their location and work environment.
