RN-Neuro Stepdown/Critical Care Specialist

SSM Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Stepdown/Critical Care team. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

• Assess and evaluate patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
• Provide direct patient care, administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient responses.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying potential complications and taking proactive steps to prevent them.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and education to promote optimal health outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research and evidence-based practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri or eligible for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, such as ACLS or PALS, may be required depending on the unit.
• 1+ year of experience in critical care nursing, preferably in a neuro stepdown or ICU setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment, as well as stand for long periods.
