RN/LPN Surgery Scheduler serves as a patient coordinator/liaison for surgery scheduling. This role monitors, fulfills and updates incoming requests by way of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and forms. Effectively communicates with patients, patient’s family, staff and providers to assure needs are met in a timely manner. Accurately conveys, collects and documents information regarding, pre-op history/ appointments, referrals, pre- authorizations. The ability to adhere to the HIPAA regulations, procedures and protocols set forth by the organization is mandatory.
Effective 06/21/2023, there is no longer a need for either vaccination confirmation or a medical/religious exemption.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience
Licensed Nurse
Associate Degree or some college preferred
Surgery scheduling/authorization experience preferred
Insurance or coding claims processing preferred
Medical Terminology course
Other healthcare certification appreciated
