ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Patient Access Center Specialist-MA/LPN/RN will be the clinical resource for triage calls, answer clinical questions within the scope of their position, prepare medication refills, assist with scheduling urgent specialist appointments and perform other duties as required within the Behavioral Health Department.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Answers phone calls with excellent customer service skills.
  • Schedules patients within the algorithm designed.
  • Serves as the clinical resource for any scheduling, triage and prescription refill questions.
  • Take first call for triage and refill related questions.
  • Properly scans all appropriate paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Works closely with Behavioral Health to ensure all data items are accessible and in the correct standard within the patient EMR.
  • Provides directory information to internal and external inquirers.
  • Acts in a professional manner at all times.
  • Knowledgeable of all departments and services available in the facility.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Implement HIPPA and 42 CFR confidentiality rules into practice.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

RN

  • Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing program.
  • Maintains current Vermont State License.
  • Documented medical experience with full knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
  • One year of professional nursing experience preferred, preferably in an office setting.

LPN

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing program.
  • Maintains current Vermont State License.
  • Documented medical experience with full knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
  • One year of professional experiences preferred, preferably in an office setting.

MA

  • We will accept Certified MA or non-certified MA.
  • Medical Assistant Training is a plus.
  • One year of professional experience preferred, preferably in an office setting.
