Certified Nursing Assistant In-Training (CNAIT)

Citadel of Sterling is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant in-Training (CNAIT) to join their team! A Certified Nursing Assistant In-Training (CNAIT) is an employee in training to become a CNA. Training is free to the employee and the employee may be in this role while earning their CNA license/certification until they move into a CNA role. 

Certified Nursing Assistant in-Training (CNAIT) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist nurse aides with designated resident care specific areas of eating, drinking, and personal hygiene.
  • Receive and carry out instructions concerning the specific feedings, hydration and/or personal hygiene care needs of the residents whom he/she will be assigned to assist
  • Assists with the provision of care and services related to activities of daily living and/or as directed by the staff nurse.
  • Assists in developing a written plan of care for each customer that identifies the problems/needs of the customer.
  • Makes rounds to assure residents are safe and comfortable.
  • May help make occupied and unoccupied beds, changes bed linens, and straightens rooms, closet, and drawers.
  • Obtains blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, heights, and weights as needed.
  • Does complete check of skin condition when dressing, undressing, turning/repositioning, etc.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Certified Nursing Assistant In-Training (CNAIT)Qualifications and Skills:

  • Successful enrollment in a state-approved CNA training program within 45 days of hire
  • Must pass the CNA Competency Examination and be listed on the Healthcare Worker Registry within 120 days of date of hire
  • Be at least 16 years of age, of temperate habits and good moral character, honest, reliable, and trustworthy
  • Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in caring for the ill, disabled, and elderly

Certified Nursing Assistant In-Training (CNAIT) Education and Experience:

  • Must possess a High School diploma or G.E.D
  • Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within 90 days of employment

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
  • Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • Meet all health requirements as needed.
