RF Engineer Intern (Summer 2025)

Job Summary:
The RF Engineer Intern at Nsight will assist in designing and optimizing wireless systems, including site selection, spectrum management, and performance monitoring. This role involves conducting drive tests, analyzing data, and supporting cell site technicians to ensure high-quality cellular service. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications and have a basic understanding of cellular technologies.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist in site selection, tower height evaluation, antenna selection, and output power levels for cellular telephony.
- Evaluate spectrum utilization at each site and its impact on the system.
- Conduct drive tests and analyze drive test data and E911 data.
- Monitor and trend current system performance, assisting with changes to improve performance.
- Assist cell site technicians in the turn-up of new sites and record initial performance benchmarks.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
- General knowledge of spectrum/network analysis and test equipment.
- Proficient in Windows, Linux, Word, Excel, and Internet.
- Understanding of basic cellular theory and technologies is preferred.
An individual who is analytical, technically skilled in wireless systems, and eager to learn and innovate in the telecommunications field would excel in this role.
