Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Lake County, IL
FLSA: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct Hire
A leading provider of electronic assembly machines and software is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer. The role involves troubleshooting machine and software issues, performing on-site installations and repairs, and assisting with network configuration and administration. The ideal candidate will have over three years of field service experience with strong mechanical, electrical, and Windows OS knowledge. Up to 75% travel is required, with a preference for candidates experienced in semiconductor and Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
Responsibilities:
Provide on-site and remote engineering support to ensure optimal machine performance.
Perform installations, repairs, and programming of industrial machines and software.
Assist with network configuration and administration, including setting up Windows & Database servers.
Document service logs and provide customer training on software products.
Respond to after-hours technical support requests and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications:
3+ years of field service experience.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and database/software knowledge.
Semiconductor and/or SMT experience is a big plus.
Experience with Microsoft SQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL is a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 75%.
