of $171,800.00 - $286,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program. Job Description Cox Enterprises is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel, Cybersecurity, to join our Atlanta team! The Senior Corporate Counsel, Cybersecurity, will oversee all legal, compliance and regulatory affairs related to cybersecurity and information security for Cox Enterprises, its affiliates, and subsidiaries, including Cox Communications and Cox Automotive. This role entails providing expert legal advice, guidance, and support concerning data protection laws and regulations, information security policies, and the company’s cybersecurity practices. The Senior Counsel will collaborate with business leaders to ensure compliance with relevant laws, assess cybersecurity risks, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the principal legal advisor on cybersecurity, data protection laws, and information security regulations for Cox Enterprises.

Lead and promote the enterprise-wide adoption of data protection and cybersecurity best practices.

Develop and support the implementation of information security policies and procedures in response to changes in laws, regulations, and business practices.

Advise and assist technology and security teams in conducting investigations into suspected privacy incidents, including determining the applicability of privacy/data breach laws and requirements for notifying users and regulators.

Conduct legal reviews related to information security for new and evolving products and services, new market penetration, or other material changes.

Review and negotiate terms related to information security in contracts and agreements.

Provide training and education on cybersecurity, data protection laws, and information security regulations to company employees.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues related to cybersecurity, data protection laws, and information security regulations.

Education, experience, & other qualifications J.D. degree required, license to practice law, and 8 years of experience providing legal advice on cybersecurity, data protection laws, and information security regulations

Proven experience in advising on cybersecurity, data protection laws, and information security regulations matters in a corporate setting.

Experience providing counsel throughout a security incident, including the investigation, analysis, and notification phases as required by applicable law.

Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection laws, information security and privacy regulations and laws, and industry standards such as NIST, ISO, and GDPR

Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Adept at delivering training and education on cybersecurity and data protection laws.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proficient in collaborating with cross-functional teams

Skilled in coordinating with and managing outside counsel

Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Skills: In-depth knowledge of global cybersecurity, data protection laws, information security regulations, and other relevant frameworks

Proficiency in legal research tools and databases

Knowledge of document management systems

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a corporate legal department or with a law firm specializing in cybersecurity and information security.
