Job Summary

Assists students through proactive academic advisement. Advises students regarding degree and graduation requirements, various certificate programs, university transfer requirements, academic and financial aid probation/suspension status. May evaluate transcripts, equivalency of transfer credit and compute GPA's. May assist with course registration. Assists students with program planning, educational planning and course selection. Assists students with course placement through interpretation of institutional assessment measures. Maintains student files regarding advisement, educational planning and retention. Participates in cross college collaboration in the process of student development, retention and completion. This position will require on campus work presence. Essential Functions

80% - Provides professional-level end-to-end Academic Advising to a caseload of students, to support student learning, persistence, and degree completion. Provides 1:1 as well as group academic advising, on-boarding, retention, and academic advising and success support functions to students to ensure ongoing successful progress to completion of degree program. Provides guidance to students on goal setting, decision making, degree and certificate options, transfer pathways, course selection, registration, academic progress and satisfactory progress toward certificate/degree using PeopleSoft and other technology. Provides advice and consultation to students in selection of options best suited to the student's goals, interests and skills. As the primary liaison, connects students with academic and personal resources including tutoring, counseling, and career services. Provides ongoing, proactive follow up to ensure student learning and progress outcomes are met. Monitors student academic progress through a variety of reporting tools. Processes/reviews applications, facilitates information sessions, and completes education verifications; and facilitates connections with partnering universities10% - Prepares, designs and maintains correspondence, reports, presentations, program materials and documentation5% - Develop strong proactive relationships with cross college stakeholders to promote student success, retention and completion by participating in committees, preparing and delivering presentations to classrooms, departments, faculty, staff and administrators5% - Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.ORHigh School Diploma (or GED), and three years' full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution Previous experience working with or for faculty in a higher education setting. One (1) or more years of experience providing academic advising in a college setting within the last 2 years One (1) year experience entering records in a student information system (such as PeopleSoft SIS) Effective written communications skills (as evidenced by application materials) Two (2) or more years' customer service (please specify setting)

Special Working Conditions
