Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines? That is our goal
Required Certifications NRP, BLS, ACLS-beginning Jan 2023
Common diagnoses/Types of patients Active labor, post partum, gestational hypertension, GDM
Experience or 'Must have' skills Circulate in the OR
Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Both
Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? 2 surgical techs 24 hours a day, LPN (2 on days 1 on nights)
OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? Yes to both, 24 hour anesthesia in house as well
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) No
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? no
EFM System Obix
Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts, 7-7:30
Weekend Requirement yes
Holiday Requirement
Is there a call or standby requirement? Not for travel RN’s
Floating Requirements
Scrub Color/Dress code Navy blue. There are jackets and scrubs that are provided by the hospital for L&D Nurses.
