Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Cancer Center Infusion

Unit Description: The Infusion Nurse in Ambulatory Oncology provides chemotherapy and biologic therapies to adult patients with complex illness. Key aspects of this direct-care role include insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters; establishing access via utilizing implanted devices; administration of systemic chemotherapy and biotherapies; supporting the infusion patient who is participating in clinical trials; and comprehensive patient assessment and education.

  • The incumbent will work a combination of 1 weekday either Fridays or Mondays from 7am - 7:30pm, and 1 weekend day either Saturdays or Sundays from 7am - 3:30pm.
  • Education: State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative.
  • Experience: 1 year experience in relevant clinical area and/or independent in all areas of the Ambulatory RN I accountabilities. Chemotherapy Certification preferred. Oncology Certification preferred.

On-call: Not required.
