A $331 million Terminal Expansion Project is currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. Planning for Terminal Expansion Phase 2 has begun and will add Concourse E, with an additional 14 gates to the current terminal building, expand the Chiller Plant Facility, as well as make other associated terminal, landside and airside improvements.

The anticipated hourly starting rate for the ideal candidate is $26.18 per hour

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities : Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be called to fulfill duties that are outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities.

Overview of Benefits

Florida Retirement System (FRS)

The employee has a choice of a pension or an investment plan. The FRS Pension Plan is a traditional defined benefit plan that offers you a guaranteed monthly benefit for life after the required vesting period. The FRS Investment Plan is a defined contribution plan that receives an employer contribution of 8.3% for regular class employees and 16% for special risk employees . Both are employee and employer-sponsored retirement plans. Lee County Port Authority employees eligible to participate in FRS are required to contribute 3% of each paycheck to FRS. If you have retired from the FRS pension plan, please be advised that you are not eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options.

Medical Insurance

The Port Authority offers two plan choices for all full-time employees, their spouse and their dependents. Coverage begins the first of the month following their date of hire.

Dental Insurance

The Port Authority offers a dental plan for full time employees, their spouse and children.

Vision Insurance

If you are enrolled in the medical plan you and your family are eligible for basic vision coverage through vision discounts. Two more comprehensive plans are offered, including a basic vision plan and a vision 2 high option plan, paid entirely by the employee.

Employee Assistance Program

The Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. This is the availability of licensed professional counselors for personal issues with 100% confidentiality.

Flexible Spending Account(s)

There are two types of reimbursement accounts: Medical and Dependent Care. It is optional and allows the employee to have pre tax dollars deducted from their paycheck for reimbursement of medical costs not covered by your plans or child care costs for children under 13.

Life /AD & D Insurance

The Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. Employees are insured at an amount equal to the annual salary rounded to the next higher thousand dollars. The AD&D insurance provides additional coverage in the event the employee should lose their limb(s), eyesight or die.

Optional Life Insurance

The Port Authority provides the employee with an option to purchase additional life insurance coverage for him/herself, their spouse and their child(ren).

Short Term Disability

The Port Authority provides the employee with short term disability coverage for him/herself at no cost to the employee.

Long Term Disability

The Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. Benefits are paid up to 60% of the employee's salary after being disabled for 90 consecutive days.

Direct Deposit

The employee's payroll check is directly deposited into the bank of their choice.
