Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive, high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The MedSurg/Telemetry RN will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care, monitor vital signs, and ensure that patients receive the best possible care throughout their hospital stay.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for a diverse patient population.

- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing and responding to abnormal readings.

- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.

- Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other specialized nursing procedures.

- Regularly monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.

Patient Support:

- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.

- Provide emotional support to patients and families, helping them navigate their health journey.

- Facilitate patient mobility and manage pain, ensuring comfort and safety.

Administrative:

- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including telemetry monitoring reports.

- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, physical therapists, and case managers, to plan and coordinate comprehensive patient care.

- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences to ensure continuity of care.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, including participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.

- Telemetry certification or relevant experience in telemetry monitoring is strongly preferred.

- Previous experience in Medical-Surgical nursing is highly desirable.

- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple patients with varying acuity levels.
