Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient radiation services and may include in-patient consultation. Academic responsibilities may include teaching residents/medical students in the outpatient clinical setting and in the classroom. Participation in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and other administrative and program committees are expected. Also, preparation and presentation of program didactics, grand rounds, and assisting with undergraduate medical education will be assigned at the Chair’s discretion. The successful candidate will develop a robust clinical/translational research program that advances the therapeutic paradigm. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials. Minimum Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited institution, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology and licensed in the State of Texas. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications Successful completion of ACGME accredited residency training program in Radiation Oncology. Preferred Qualifications Experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Bilingual in English and Spanish Regional or emerging reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher. License or Certification Required? As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program ( ORP ) instead of TRS , subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
