Job Summary

We are seeking an Optician to join our team! As an Optician, you will speak with patients to learn about their lifestyle and needs, take facial measurements, and help them pick out eyewear and contact lenses based on their specific requirements. You will also help them learn about their new products, explain pricing and insurance coverage, and follow all HIPPA and confidentiality regulations closely. The ideal candidate has exceptional customer service skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of an optometrist’s office. We are seeking a candidate with interest aesthetics as well. We are a unique boutique practice offering the lates in technology.

Responsibilities

Meet and talk with patients to learn their needs for eyewear

Make suggestions on frames, and assist patients in choosing the best option for them

Take facial measurements to ensure a perfect frame fit

Prepare specific orders for the ophthalmic lab

Insurance verification. Explain pricing, insurance, and payment options to the patient thoroughly

Answer phones and helping customers with various needs

Interest in helping build aesthetics business, including promotion of treatments and medical grade skin solutions

Self-motivated. Willing to help build patient professional relationships.

Motivated to work for base hourly rate plus commission based productivity bonus

Perspective employee must NOT be glued to personal social media during work hours

Must jump in and help where needed.

Have an understanding of optometry private practice and its unique position in the industry

Be a team player that gets along with others

Positive can do attitude

Qualifications

Previous optometrist’s office experience and/or aesthetics desired

License with the state desired NOT necessary

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong understanding of HIPPA

Strong customer service skills
