Operations Manager

Reports to (title): Technical Director

Budget Scope: Prepares and manages receiving, grading, and shipping area budgets.

Summary : The Operations Manager leads daily operations and production of high-quality food products and ensures the delivery of safe quality food products that meet customer specifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees that all aspects of the Food processing functions are within regulatory requirements and within the food safety and quality guidelines, as defined in company policy.
  • Ensures that all produce received and shipped complies with company and customer specifications.
  • Enforces all company GMP, food safety, quality, and employee safety procedures.
  • Acts as a member of the Crisis Management Team as requested.
  • In cooperation with the Vice President Operations, assures that root cause analysis and corrective actions, as defined by the HACCP team, are completed.
  • Provides job-related training for Operations employees.
  • In cooperation with VP Agriculture and Tank Yard Manager maintains production records to assure product traceability and control production costs.
  • Covers in the absence of the Tank Farm Manager.
  • Follows a budget sufficient for the manufacture of a safe quality product.
  • The Operations Manager will represent the company in interactions with growers, ingredient and material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, maintenance, receiving, shipping, and tank farm employees, food safety and auditors.
Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements
  • 10 years' experience in food industry, with production supervisory background.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have strong management skills and the ability to work in cross functional situations.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis.
