American Hardwood Industries is one of the leading producers of Appalachian and Northern lumber, manufacturing more than 110 million board feet annually and shipping to customers throughout the world. We are currently seeking a Concentration Yard Manager for our kiln operation located in Linden, TN.

Key Purposes of this position include:

• Direct and manage kiln operation in the areas of safety, production, maintenance, profitability, and quality.
• Strive to continuously improve all areas of yard performance.

• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for safety, production, profitability, and quality standards.
• Oversee location activities to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure the safe operation of kiln operations. Be aware of OSHA regulations and maintain the facility in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Manage capital asset maintenance for the operation.
• Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
• Provide direction, development, and leadership to location workforce.
• Encourage and foster a sense of high, positive morale among the workforce.

• 4-year degree, preferably in Forest or Wood Products.
• At least 5 years of hardwood lumber inventory or manufacturing experience.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook. SAP experience a plus.
• Organize multiple work assignments and establish priorities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, sometimes after hours.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
