Position Overview:
The Company is looking for a full-time EIT to add to the forensic team. We are looking for an ambitious candidate that is fluent in AutoCAD and has the ability to produce structural designs and details for residential buildings. This person is preferred to have previously designed buildings with steel, wood, and concrete. Additional experience working with mechanicals and HVAC considered or home building experience is a plus. They need to be very reliable, hardworking, and self-starter that enjoys a challenge. You would be joining an energetic team environment in our growing Houston office with potential for development and growth. Examples of common daily work would include but is not limited to foundation movement evaluations, residential frame distress analysis, ventilation analysis, analysis of structural members existing and proposed, organic growth inspections, regular communications with clients, special inspections required by public entities. The proposed position would be mostly in our Houston office with some field time and traveling as needed for special projects.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years previous structural design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Strong writing/grammar skills
  • Ability to read and interpret residential architectural drawings (blueprints)
  • Familiarity in building codes
  • Ability to create frame and foundation details under limited supervision
  • Understanding of building envelope requirements
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with Architects, Builders, inspectors, and Owners
  • Demonstrated strong organization and time management, which includes the ability to multi-task and run multiple projects concurrently
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • Possesses leadership skills and teamwork attitude
  • Punctual, polite and professional manner required
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus
  • Some field time and travel required
Work Schedule:
Generally Monday - Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
