Full/Part Time Status: Full Time Position Description:

The Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a qualified and dedicated Podiatrist to join our team at the Instructor level. This position focuses on providing non-operative, office-based and hospital-based podiatric care and involves fulfilling roles as a consultant, educator, researcher, and administrator. This position will support quality care and positive patient outcomes particularly in the area of diabetic foot and wound care. This position will perform direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services, and provide patient education with physician referral and collaboration as appropriate. Additionally, this position will provide focused education to diabetic patients regarding foot care and safety for prevention of ulcers.

Education Requirement:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree, with a strong emphasis on sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Graduation from an accredited podiatric medical school with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree.
  • Completion of a three-year postgraduate residency program in podiatric medicine and surgery, or commensurate experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current license to practice podiatry in Iowa or eligible to obtain license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Strong clinical skills in non-operative podiatric care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and research in podiatric medicine.
  • Experience and interest in diabetic foot care.
  • Experience working in a wound center.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in podiatric specialties
