Cyanco is the newest member of the Orica Specialty Mining Chemicals team. <br><br><strong>About the role</strong><br><br>The Reliability Engineer is responsible for optimizing the availability and safe operation of production assets across all Cyanco production and shipping facilities. S/he will develop, implement, and manage predictive and preventive maintenance programs, inspection, and overhaul maintenance plans, troubleshoot, and provide technical support to ensure delivery of cost-effective solutions. The Reliability Engineer will also mentor and train staff on effective maintenance practices. The successful candidate must be extremely safety-conscious and able to work within Cyanco's values.<br><br><strong>What you will be doing</strong><br><ul><li>Fully understand all equipment and systems at Cyanco's Winnemucca production plant.</li><li>Enhance the availability and secure operation of facilities, processes, and equipment by prioritizing safety, reliability, uptime, and maintenance cost effectiveness. Achieve this through tailored predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Additionally, ensure the safe and efficient execution of corrective maintenance and projects.</li><li>Lead or participate in initiatives to continuously improve the reliability of products and systems.</li><li>Compare reliability performance against industry standards and best practices. </li><li>Define the scope and frequency of preventative maintenance and inspection test plans to uphold equipment reliability, aligned with Orica best practice and standards.</li><li>Assist in identification of spare parts inventory. </li><li>Build and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and quality-assured completion of maintenance projects.</li><li>Engage in correspondence with suppliers for equipment procurement, establishing robust QA/QC processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.</li><li>Train maintenance staff on best practices, encompassing effective problem-solving methodologies, risk and failure analysis, maintenance scheduling, and utilization of maintenance data for informed decisions.</li><li>Review and implement new equipment and operating procedures to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.</li><li>Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and predictive analysis for when and how future failures may occur on equipment.</li><li>Monitor overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) </li></ul><br><strong>What you will bring</strong><br><ul><li>Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent preferred</li><li>Lubrication Technician I Certified Preferred</li><li>Preferred 5 years in maintenance in a chemical manufacturing environment.</li><li>Skilled in maintenance methodologies preventative maintenance and mechanical integrity and corresponding tools</li><li>Knowledge of fixed and rotating equipment and strong knowledge of precision tools</li><li>Experienced in using multiple root cause analysis methods. </li></ul><br><strong>Role dimensions</strong><br><br><strong>Physical Demands </strong><br><ul><li>Comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing setting (hazardous materials and chemicals) </li><li>Able to work in extreme temperature conditions and around loud machinery; required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.</li><li>Regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.</li><li>Required to regularly use technology tools including computers, cell phones, etc.</li><li>Able to use computers and/or monitors for significant amounts of time.</li><li>Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.</li></ul><br><strong>Your qualifications</strong><br><ul><li>Robust mechanical aptitude essential; proficient electrical and instrumentation skills desirable.</li><li>Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics is essential.</li><li>Sound grasp of process improvement and QA/QC principles pertaining to repair and maintenance tasks.</li><li>Advanced problem-solving abilities, employing logic and reasoning to identify issues and devise appropriate solutions.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, adept at tailoring communication style to diverse audiences.</li><li>Strong leadership capabilities encompassing coaching, mentoring, team building, problem resolution, active listening, training, and development.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of fostering and sustaining positive working relationships with both employees and vendors.
