Registered Veterinary Technician

VCA Sacramento Animal Medical Group ( is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited, 4-doctor, general practice in Carmichael, California. Location: 4990 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael, CA 95608 Must have at least 2 years of in hospital experience, initiative, good nursing skills, be a team player as well as able to work independently. Must be willing to work 40 hrs per week. Job summary: Assist Doctors and other hospital staff by care and cleaning of patients and facilities including completing patient treatments, assisting in surgery and all other animal care functions as well as other tasks involved in the operations of a Veterinary hospital. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Previous experience or training/education working in a Veterinary hospital is required. Must be friendly, outgoing, “people-oriented.” Must have excellent communication skills including telephone and computer skills. Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept change. Physical requirements: Dependable attendance is required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions. This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during an 8-hour shift.
