The Security Engineer is responsible for researching, testing, and implementing security software to reduce risk to TAB. The Security Engineer will often resolve possible causes of security threats early on by reviewing current security coverage and recommending enhancements to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and initiative over all aspects of information security technologies in use at TAB
  • Review current security standards and practices and suggesting improvements to enhance security posture
  • Install, document, and manage initial rollout of new software, such as DLP, email gateways, badge, and camera systems, etc.
  • Create and maintain documentation of technical tools, and provide a smooth transition to operations staff once technical, operational, and business integration tasks are complete
  • Understand software, hardware and internet needs while adjusting them according to business environment
  • Review scans of networks and applications to find vulnerabilities and suggest products to reduce vulnerabilities
  • Work with operations to monitor networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions, and suggest products, tools, or processes to reduce likelihood and severity of incidents
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to handle and track incidents
  • Test security solutions using industry standard analysis criteria
  • Observe and report on irregular system behavior
  • Develop and lead incident response activities such as red and purple team exercises
  • Assist in developing a roadmap for Information Security program enhancements
  • Assist with educating staff members on information security through training and awareness
  • Work with Audit and auditing firms on ensuring compliance with regulations and providing requested evidence
  • Recommend improvements to Information Security Officer in legal, technical, and regulatory areas
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Translate business objective and requirements to information security requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working in and with technical teams
  • One or more of CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CEH – all professional certifications highly valued
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of best practices, risk assessment and how to implement changes at a business-wide level
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
