Skilled Nursing Registered Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled nursing registered nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of residents within a skilled nursing setting. The ideal candidate will ensure continuity of care for residents, provide direct care, and supervise the care given by CNA's, LPN's, and supportive staff members. Additionally, participation in resident and family teaching/conferences is required, maintaining a resident advocate role with a focus on the facility's mission.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Assess residents on admission and when conditions change
• Educate residents and families on pain management
• Assess the resident's condition and nursing needs; set goals; prescribe appropriate nursing action
• Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes patient safety
• Submit clear, concise, and pertinent records and written documentation
• Notify physician of changes in resident's condition and follow through until appropriate action is taken
• Carry out physician's orders in a timely manner and prepare reviews in advance

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or higher degree
• One year experience in long term care

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Registered Nurse licensure in NYS

Preferred:

• Basic Life Support Certification
