The Telemetry Nurse (RN) provides care and constant monitoring of patients, often in critical condition.
The Telemetry Registered Nurse reviews electrical activity of the heart and cares for a variety of patients including those suffering from heart failure, diabetes, GI diseases, and other acute diagnoses.
Education:
Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of state.
ADN required; BSN preferred.
License/Certification:
Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
ACLS & BLS is required.
Experience:
Minimum 1-year RN experience required.
Additional Info-
M/S Tele Float Pool RN - Eves & EOW - 32hrs. * RESPONSIBLE FOR CARDIAC MONITORING, CARDIAC DRIPS & READING TELE STRIPS ** 1. Unit Name: Med/Surg Float Pool. 2. Brief Unit Description: Float throughout the hospital to all Med/Surg Tele areas (Davenport 5, Davenport 7, Davenport 8, Davenport 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, & Overflow). 3. Experience Required: Two years of acute care hospital experience. 4. Skill Sets Required: Telemetry monitoring including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours. TR Band experience. Must be able to perform Cardiac Drips and Reading Tele Strips. 5. Clinician to Patient Ratio: Days & Eves up to 5:1. Nights up to 6:1. 6. Patient Population: Care for ED border patients; medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented patients who are transfer ready in the ICU. 7. Bed Count: 371. 8. Census: Units range from 8 to 41 beds. 9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC, Omnicell, Kronos. 10. Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. BLS.
Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
