Our Emergency Observation Department is a specialized area directly attached to the larger Emergency Department. This is a specialized department allowing for efficient, ongoing medical assessments, treatment, and reassessments of patients. This model allows for a deeper dive into complexities that cannot be completed in the Emergency Department, and is utilized to avoid admissions, improve emergency department throughput, all while delivering the most efficient care in the outpatient setting. Nursing skills gained on this unit: * Time management in a fast-paced environment * Strong foundational nursing skills * Prioritization of care Qualifications * Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. * Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. * Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. * Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. * Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
