Leidos is seeking a Lead Engineer for Microgrid and BESS Applications to provide comprehensive engineering support for distributed energy and microgrid projects. This role involves collaborating with OEMs and switchgear manufacturers, as well as leading the design and execution of BESS and DER projects. The position is based in Framingham, MA and offers hybrid work options.

The Challenge

  • Develop innovative designs and costing scalable to various customer sites
  • Provide input to optimize performance, reliability, and sustainability for each customer site
  • Lead the full life-cycle of BESS and DER project design
  • Interface with equipment and technology vendors
  • Collaborate with business development teams to evaluate and develop technical solutions
  • Manage engineering consultants in project preparation

What You Bring to The Table

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and regulations
  • Thorough technical understanding of distributed energy technologies
  • Project management experience and excellent communication skills
  • AutoCAD experience and knowledge of interconnection applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE in power or progressing towards that license
  • 5+ years' experience in Renewable electrical/design engineering
  • Advanced courses in power or higher-level degree in the field
