IT QA Analyst

The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will oversee the activity of the offshore QA team. They are responsible for overall QA processes, methodologies and test strategy improvements including developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing, resource planning, and hiring for the testing of the organization's IT systems, products and/or development processes. The QA Analyst Monitors overall QA objectives and deliverables to end customers based on quality standards.
This position is based on-site at our Corporate Office in Boston Heights, Ohio.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build a comprehensive working knowledge of entire end-to-end systems and processes to support all testing needs.
  • Establish, maintain and oversee all aspects of QA processes and methodologies to ensure effectiveness and alignment with industry best practices and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. Maintains compliance with internal controls as required.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards goals and KPIs for quality across organization and all initiatives.
  • Coordinates and facilitates testing activities with the QA Team, IT Leads and key business partners, Third-Party subject matter experts, and stakeholders, including environment set up, installation, test case preparation, and execution.
  • Lead test team triage meetings with appropriate IT and key business stakeholders and provide information and advice to the team to help make decisions.
  • Develops, implements, and manages test plans, quality strategies and processes to ensure that output meets required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery across all related IT systems and services.
  • Track and manage goals and progress and communicate to senior management.
  • Prioritize testing activities
  • Manage proper execution of different types of testing (functional, integration, end to end, performance, user acceptance testing etc.) and participate as needed to support initiatives.
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; and develop root cause analyses and recommends and facilitates corrective actions for solutions to the identified issues.
  • Develop and implement reliable, automated tests using testing tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Onboards offshore quality assurance staff.
  • Facilitate and lead QA team meetings.
  • Lead QA team on overall testing activities, approaches and strategies, working with offshore team to oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the QA staff and testing initiatives.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Provides support to QA team on systems, policies, procedures and core processes.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with Testing Automation
    • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and how QA functions within it
  • Physical Demands
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Ability to periodically work multiple shifts to accommodate offshore resources
Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in related testing field required with lead or supervisory experience required
  • Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, or Quality Auditor related to the Retail industry preferred.
  • Retail or Supply Chain experience preferred
