Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Oncology Clinic

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Current Colorado RN License or ability to obtain.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card (ONS/ONCC) required within 30 days of hire.
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of two years of oncology nursing experience.
  • Experience in acute care settings, with specific knowledge of various patient populations and diseases.
  • Familiarity with the ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group) Performance Status scale.

Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Oncology Clinic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oncology nursing and demonstrate proficiency in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing treatment in the Medical Oncology Clinic.
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor patients for signs of adverse reactions and intervene promptly as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication management, and symptom management strategies.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care delivery.
  • Stay abreast of current evidence-based practices and emerging trends in oncology nursing.
