Job Description

Job Summary:
Assists in providing direct, and in-direct patient care under direction of appropriate personnel or leadership (e.g. registered nurses and providers). Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation. Acts as a clinical resource for students, those being oriented and volunteers.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Valid Oregon EMT License: Required in OR (National Registry Preferred)
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Healthcare Provider or equivalent: Required in OR
  • NAEMT PHTLS or equivalent within 6 months: Required in OR
  • EVOC/EVOS or equivalent: Required in OR
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT): Required
Essential Functions:
  • Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation within the EMT scope of practice.
  • Collects, records and communicates basic patient data, current and changing status as needed.
  • Cleans, inspects, assembles and sterilizes trays and equipment in accordance with established departmental procedures.
  • Takes immediate and appropriate action upon occurrence of emergency situation within job description and policies.
  • Participates in continuing/advanced education which demonstrates employee commitment to improving capabilities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
