This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.

Job Summary: Provides clinical patient care by administering appropriate treatment. Progresses patient treatment as appropriate. Provides documentation by maintaining appropriate treatment records. Provides expert instruction to patients, family, and students. Responsible for upkeep of equipment and resource materials.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid State of Oklahoma Licensure in Occupational Therapy.

Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and families. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to use computers, basic computer knowledge, as needed for data input and reporting. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective reasoning ability and ability to be adaptable.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides clinical patient care by administering appropriate treatment. Administers treatment plan appropriate for diagnosis. Carries patient load that reflects productivity standards. Progresses patient treatment as appropriate. Provides documentation by maintaining appropriate treatment records. Evaluates patient appropriately. Sets and meets functional goals within guidelines at discharge for each patient. Maintains treatment records to include re-evaluation, progress notes, discharge summaries, and education record in an appropriate time frame. Provides expertise instruction to patients, family, and students. Documents understanding and instruction of home programs to patient/family. Presents one in-service yearly to staff & other healthcare workers. Designs adaptive devices, suggests adaptations of equipment, and/or equipment in accordance with patient needs. Assists with students & volunteers. Follows care path guidelines for patient/family education & documentation of home programs. Maintains competency through continuing educational activities. Attends 95% of in-services and departmental meetings. Attends one or more educational sessions per year. Earns 10 contact hours toward O.T. license. Meets TJC requirements. Follows set guidelines for daily operations in order to assist with administration of department. Completes accurate daily patient charge sheet. Is responsible for upkeep of equipment and resource materials. Schedules and prioritizes daily work assignments. Appropriately delegates responsibilities to support personnel. Consistently clocks in and out in accordance with department standards. Assists with CQI activities.

Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.

Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
