Responsibilities:

As our Nursing Assistant at St. John's youll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. Youre diligent about your tasks observant of patients conditions improving or declining and accept coaching well. You know were all continuously trying to become better care providers and youre eager to learn.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications:
  • High school education
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program
  • Current Certified Nurse Assistant certification (CT NA)
  • CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months recent hospital experience as a CNA

Special Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and writing; clearly concisely and accurately
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to operate common office equipment including computers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures
