Summary:
Responsible for delivery of patient care to a mainly geriatric population through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Also directs and guides patient teaching, activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a RN (Emergency Department preferred). Critical care background preferred.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
License/Certification:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in MA
ACLS/BLS required
TNCC preferred

The Emergency Nurse provides care to patients with urgent or critical illness, patients requiring emergency care and patients seeking treatment for non-urgent care. The Emergency Nurse triages patients according to care requirements and provides ongoing assessment of their condition, immediate interventions and discharge teaching. The Emergency Department Nurse provides care to those within any of the following populations: pre-natal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric and with those of adult age on an inter-disciplinary level; must be able to effectively interact appropriate to individual's intellectual level and physical ability.
