Job Role Summary

The Respiratory Nurse Specialist provides respiratory care to inpatients with respect to acuity, age, and required treatment. This position is responsible for all professional requirements including licensure, attendance of meetings, annual education, and quarterly competencies.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Administers all respiratory care as ordered by a physician
  • Delivers respiratory care via assessment, critical thinking, and monitoring while exercising multi-disciplinary communication
  • Provides accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all patient care administered
  • Complies with all organizational policies including state licensure, practice guidelines, required credentialing, and passing all required competencies
  • Provides age-appropriate respiratory care in all assigned areas
  • Participate in continuing education and in-services to remain current in respiratory care
  • Serves as a resource to coworkers and all disciplines within the organization
  • Cleans and assemble respiratory care equipment utilized at Brickyard Healthcare
  • Provides indicated education regarding respiratory care to patients and families
  • Submits accurate and complete equipment charges via the electronic medical record in coordination with accurate documentation
