TESA Precision Measurement Instruments LLC, with a US base in Williamsport, PA, is recruiting for a driven Territory Sales Manager to join our team and drive sales for Distributor and End-user Sales of TESA products in the US states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio & Kentucky. TESA brand is the global market leader in the field of height gauges and a pioneer thanks to its wide range of instruments, including calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, lever-type dial test indicators and inductive probes. TESA is a true benchmark for the inspection of incoming goods, as well as for production workshops and quality assurance laboratories.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Works under supervision of TESA - AREA SALES MANAGER & TEAM LEADER to establish and achieve objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops regional sales strategy and tactical plans for the region in collaboration with TESA HQ leadership and drives execution of the plans.
• Negotiates with customers order goals, creating market demand within their territories, and developing and implementing sales plans.
• Conducts regular business meetings with distributors to ensure plan goals are met.
• Price negotiations with TESA customers, in collaboration with TESA HQ management, following HQ guidelines.
• Develops, coordinates, and conducts presentations for new/existing products, events, programs to drive consistency to customers.
• Gives technical trainings and presentations to customers on TESA metrology products.
• Upgrading and further developing the distribution and dealer networks while projecting a professional image.
• Identifying new business opportunities and onboarding new potential customers.
• Encourages and drives distributors to participate in all product trainings, programs and sales training opportunities.
• Lead distributors in setting dealer development standards. E.g. demo room set-up, including merchandising and display of products.
• Sell-in and monitors branding requirements.
• Identifies and prioritizes open points; conducts market output analysis and selects markets.
• Identifies business improvement opportunities in the distributor network.
• Manages customer reporting and analysis needed by management to monitor regional performance.
• Reports problems, status, and attitudes of distributor network to management.
• Determines and manages distributor profiles
• Works with established after sales market service partners.
• Evaluates and ranks multiple prospects in the distributor selection process, makes recommendations to management.
• Close collaboration with: Area Sales Manager, Sales Director, Product Marketing, Marcom, Sales Assistants, Service Department.
THIS SHOULD DESCRIBE YOU:
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in sales; prior metrology experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or relevant degree required or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in distribution channel / selling techniques education. (e.g. negotiation skills)
• Solid technical understanding of metrology with the proven ability to drive sales in this space
• Proven track record in managing dealer development and dealer network development
• Proficient user in MS Office suite. Must be able to prepare reports, presentations, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary
• A highly developed level of creative skills, resourcefulness and perseverance are required to succeed as a Sales Territory Manager
• Critical thinking skills must be applied to determine the best strategic approach to maintain budget controls and to effectively use the resources within TESA
• Ability to multi-task, have strong attention to detail, and be organized are all necessary to be successful in this position
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization; language
• Strong ability to work in a team environment
• Must be willing and able to travel at least 25%+. Valid driver's license with good driving record is required
• Bi-lingual English/German and/or English/French a plus
