Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description The Pharmacy Technician will handle medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities include verifying patient information, checking orders for insurance approval, and preparing medications accurately and in a timely manner according to department guidelines. The role involves calculating correct dosage volumes, maintaining indigent patient drug programs, counting and maintaining records of controlled drugs, and ensuring proper disposal of materials used in IV preparations. The technician will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the hood, logging and checking drug dates, keeping accurate temperature logs, and managing inventory control. Additional duties include assisting the lead admixture technician, preparing labels, filing and preparing billing, performing data entry, ordering medication and supplies, and maintaining overall sanitation in the pharmacy department.
