Beverage Manager San Luis Hotel

Overview:

The Beverage Manager is responsible for coordination and direction of the hotel beverage operation, to include high volume bar/lounge, while maintaining a profitable department and high quality products and service levels. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all beverage personnel.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparing the beverage budget and monitor department performance with respect to the same.
  • Monitor industry trends, take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations.
  • Keep Hotel Manager fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
  • Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the beverage department.
  • Organize and conduct department meetings on a regular basis.
  • Monitor quality of service and product.
  • Ensure timely purchase of beverage items, within budget allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
  • Attend and/or conduct departmental and hotel training.
  • Interview candidates for front of the house beverage positions and follow standards of hiring approvals.
  • Be familiar with the function of each department.
  • Ensure training of all beverage personnel.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all beverage personnel.
  • Review beverage staffs worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to accounting on a timely basis.

Conduct all annual employee performance appraisals for beverage department

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
