Learning Experience Designer

Zurich North America is currently looking for a highly motivated Learning Experience Designer to support our Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) organization. In this role you will be responsible for the analysis process, design, and delivery of training programs and content of a technical and developmental nature. Ideally this role will be hybrid in the Zurich North America Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. May consider other locations.


This role involves creating engaging and effective learning content, utilizing a variety of instructional design methodologies, and ensuring the training materials are aligned with industry standards and organizational goals. The individual will collaborate with subject matter experts from our various technical centers, stakeholders, and other team members to identify training needs and develop solutions that enhance the technical competencies of employees.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop engaging and interactive learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructional videos, job aids, and other training resources.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skill gaps and determine learning objectives.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content.
  • Apply instructional design principles and methodologies to create effective training programs that meet the needs of technical engineering professionals.
  • Manage training materials within the Learning Management System (LMS), track learner progress, and provide data analytics.
  • Review, revise, and enhance training materials to ensure they are up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with industry standards and organizational goals.
  • Program manage end-to-end learning experiences, including scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area
    AND
  • Experience in instructional design, content creation, or a related role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, training content creation, or a related role, preferably within a technical, engineering, or insurance environments
  • Proficiency using e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, etc.), multimedia design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Technical Writing experience
  • Customer education and training methodologies
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work in a global team environment
  • Performance consulting and analytical thinking
  • Adaptable and flexible to exploring new tools and ways of working
  • Certifications or bachelor's degree in instructional design, talent development, or program management
