Seneca Tank is an international supplier of new and used petroleum tank trucks, transports, and truck tank parts, with more than 40 years of experience. We also operate an ASME certified repair and DOT service facility supported by a million-dollar parts inventory. Our company prides itself on its family environment and focus on safety. Summary: Reporting to the Purchasing and Production Parts Manager, the incumbent orders, receives, and stocks parts/materials used in the production process and routes them within the new-build shop and to other departments. In addition, the job holder records the movement of parts into and out of inventory. Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Essential Job Functions: Inventory Control (35%)
  • Perform year-end physical inventory counts of parts/materials to ensure inventory records comport with quantities on hand
  • Perform periodic cycle counts for high-value items to ensure inventory records comport with items on-hand, and make corresponding inventory adjustments in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Record parts-charges and returns to inventory, and apply parts to work orders, in ERP system
  • Assess parts/materials inventory levels through regular inspection of warehouse and shop storage locations Receiving (20%)
  • Unload freight from delivery trucks
  • Inspect incoming parts for damage
  • Label parts and materials received with appropriate details such as serial and work order numbers
  • Tag incoming freight by project-specific or standard inventory classification, in accordance with packing slip and purchase order details Stocking (20%)
  • Stock and organize parts/materials in warehouse and shop holding areas
  • Re-shelve unused parts from tag and hold carts, upon project completion
  • Refill wire and Synflex air tubing carts, as needed
  • Supply production tag and hold carts with parts in accordance with project pull-sheet specifications, and replenish as needed, daily Tag and Label Creation (15%)
  • Create tags and labels for fluid delivery system components per Tag Order Form specifications, using engraving and printing machines Transporting Parts & Materials (10%)
  • Transfer parts between warehouse facilities to maintain inventory levels or supply specific jobs
  • Deliver tag and hold carts and individual parts between receiving area, warehouse shelves, work bays, and staging areas
  • Pull items from warehouse storage locations and deliver to production shop to supply mechanics with requisite parts/materials
  • Pull inventory-parts requested by Parts & Service Warehouse personnel and give to warehouse driver for delivery Non-Essential Functions: Grounds & Facility Maintenance
  • Remove snow and ice from business premises using manual and motorized tools and equipment
  • Sweep floor in non-production area of shop
  • Turn off/unplug equipment and ensure facility doors are locked Competencies:

  • Effective written and oral communication skills Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs frequently Equipment & Software: Equipment: Computer, photocopier/scanner, telephone, stand-up and sit-in forklift, and manual and electric pallet jack, pick up, utility vehicle, snow blower, shovel, salt push spreader, tractor-mounted snow plow Software: Internet browser, email, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and spreadsheet applications Safety: Follow policies found in Seneca Tank's Safety Manual.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must meet and maintain Company insurability standards
