DescriptionJob Summary:Manage, coach, mentor, and lead production employees in all aspects of their job. Responsible for the safety of all employees and to ensure quality and production standards are within estimated times. Provide feedback on production and personnel directly to the Production Shift Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction to Production staff which includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; address complaints and resolving problems. Determine staffing needs to meet production deadlines. Examine signoffs produced to determine if items meet specifications. Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Support company policies, enforce safety regulations, and monitor safety on a regular basis. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production, quality of product, department, and/or crews. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals. Perform a 6S audits quarterly and make sure staff has equipment 6S compliant by shifts end. Daily walks to perform continuity audits and monitor production progress. Maintain time and production records. Confer with other leaders to coordinate activities of individual departments including Facilitate and engage in Cost Center meetings.RequirementsSkills Abilities Required: Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make recommendations. Ability to work independently and to plan and organize work. Ability to coach and train department personnel. Excellent written, verbal and listening skills. Computer literate. Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis. Fluency in the English language is a requirement for this position to ensure the safety of all employees and team members. Education and Experience: A two-year Graphic Arts degree: or five plus years related experience including supervision and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of production processes related to production equipment, materials, and product.
