Job Description

The Product Engineer is directly responsible for ensuring accurate component specifications in the design and development of products. Provide input to Product Engineering and Design teams during new product development that could possibly benefit the operations team (DFMA) without compromising the project intent. Works with other teams throughout PD&D and production to provide support during development stages and model releases. Monitors compliance with all applicable boat building codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and engineer high quality models using 3D and 2D CAD tools.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of new products, programs, and strategies.
  • Evaluate vendor-supplied items for their suitability regarding fit, finish, and performance.
  • Certification of products to include USCG and NMMA standards.
  • Documents all updates to new parts manufactured according to model.
  • Works with other departments to help improve the process of the build.
Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 2D Cad experience, preferably AutoCAD.
  • 3D CAD Modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks.
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage own work without direct supervision.
  • Strategic mindset with solid technical and analytical ability.
  • Experience in the marine industry, a plus.
  • Technical drawings and documentation preferred. Physical Demands
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
