Job Summary

Job Description / Essential Elements:

RESPONSIBILITIES: The teacher works under the immediate supervision and direction of principal. The teacher will plan, implement, and evaluate instructional activities for individual students. Communication and coordination with all participants of Eligibility and Planning Committee.

SUPERVISOR: Principal

TYPICAL DUTIES: Same as K-12 teacher. Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate Individual Education Plan of each assigned student. Participate in all appropriate Eligibility and planning meetings. Provide learning environment that allows for individual differences and respect for dignity and worth of each student. Coordinate mainstreaming process. Work cooperatively with entire school staff to promote effective student learning experiences. Maintain functional learning environments. Comply with rules and regulations of California Code of Ed, Title V, and policies and procedures of Rocklin Unified School District. Prepare reports required by district, county and state. Perform educational assessments. Perform other related duties as required.

Work in team teaching model within the Learning Center with other special education teachers and support personnel. Attend regular education team teacher meetings.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Bachelor's Degree with valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in learning handicapped.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience at various grade levels and learning disabled students; Master's Degree and/or post graduate course work.

DESCRIPTION OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Medical Category I

1. Position requires normal physical strength and endurance for standing, sitting, bending, or walking.
2. Work assignments are normally located in a work environment with light physical work and requires light physical effort.
3. Lifting 25 pounds maximum or carrying any object weighing over 15 pounds.

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with valid California Teaching Credential or 30-day Substitute Teaching Permit. (Possession of a bachelor's degree (or higher) earned at a regionally accredited college or university meets the basic skills requirement (BSR) (Effective 6/29/24, Senate Bill 153).

Desirable Qualifications: Teaching experience at grade level or subject area. Master's Degree and/or post graduate course work.
