Principal Engineer/ Mechanical Process Engineer

HukariAscendent is a Women-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities.<br><br>We are seeking a Mechanical Process Design Engineer to provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.<br><br>Duration: 1 year.<br><br>Required Qualifications :<br><br>Education: BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.<br><br>Experience/Skills:<br><ul><li>Demonstrated a minimum of 10 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.</li><li>Demonstrated a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.</li><li>Demonstrated a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the nuclear industry/facility.</li><li>Demonstrated experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.</li><li>Must be able to perform weekly field walk-downs of the job site for engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve constructions sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing, and environments where a respirator is required.</li><li>Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures. (preferred)</li></ul><br>Must be a US. Citizen.<br><br>Area Security Access:<br><br>Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Afterward, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
