Malmstrom Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base in Cascade County, Montana, United States, adjacent to the city of Great Falls, MT.  Great Falls is home to the C.M. Russell Museum, devoted to the artist known for images of the American West. The Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art shows contemporary work in a landmark Romanesque Revival building. On the Missouri River, the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center has exhibits on the explorers’ route through the adjacent Giant Springs State Park. 

Great Falls is often referred to as Montana’s basecamp as a city of just over 60,000 people is centrally located and home to an international airport. Nestled in between 4 mountain ranges, 3 rivers, 2 wilderness areas and 1 wildlife refuge, adventure is easily accessible in every direction. Great Falls is about halfway between Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park? Great Falls makes the perfect stopover. Stretch your legs on the picturesque 53 miles of trail that runs along the famed Missouri River that goes right through town. Add to that the 11 museums and over 25 wall murals that make our downtown Montana’s biggest art gallery. Take a look and you’ll understand why we are known for our art scene. Oh, it may also have a little something to do with famed Western artist Charles M. Russell who called Great Falls home—you can see his studio, home, and many of his works of art.

Great Falls has all 4 seasons here (some are just shorter than others). Spring is a secret, but worth the wait! Summer is phenomenal and has most everyone enjoying the epic rivers, lakes, and streams that dot our landscape. Fall? We’re never sure when it will arrive or how long it will stick around, but you’ll enjoy the great outdoors whether you’re hiking, fishing, biking or hunting. Responsibilities Duties

• • Assist in performing exams, procedures, and treatments such as gynecological, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and ENT.
  • Receive the patient and review medical history and provide written and verbal reports.
  • Use nursing process and participate in making nursing assessments to prepare and position patient for procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medications by oral, topical, intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular routes.
  • Measure and record vital signs.
  • Prepare the procedure room and medical equipment for the procedure to be performed using proper sterilization protocols.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Practical Nurse: Licensure : A current license to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia; OR must have applied for a license to practice. Applications of candidates possessing a license must be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of the license, a notarized statement attesting to the fact, or a citation of the license number and State issuing it. Non-licensed candidates who have completed their training may be appointed subject to obtaining the required license during the probationary period. Those not licensed must furnish the date on which they applied for a license and the jurisdiction involved. No person appointed pending licensure may be retained beyond the probationary period if licensure has not been attained.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below: Experience : One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures, performing such duties as; measuring patient's vital signs, administering immunizations or medications via various routes, and screening or updating patient medical records. This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
