Amp Americas Plant Technician Apprenticeship   
Amp Americas is seeking motivated and hardworking recent high school graduates, trade school, or college students for our Renewable Energy Plant Technician Apprenticeship program. This is an exceptional opportunity for young individuals interested in clean energy, manufacturing, maintenance, or agriculture to gain hands-on experience in the renewable natural gas industry. 
As a Plant Technician Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced Plant Managers and Technicians at Amp's biogas upgrading plants. You will learn to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and respond to outages in a real-world setting. This apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to build a successful career in the renewable energy sector. 

Locations: Morris, MN & Benson, MN

Key Responsibilities  
  • Learn and assist with daily plant operations to ensure production, financial, and safety goals are met 
  • Shadow and support Plant Technicians in interpreting drawings, recommending construction methods, and using equipment 
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control measures 
  • Participate in the commissioning, testing, and operation of plants post-construction 
  • Learn, understand, and comply with plant safety rules and regulations at all times 
  • Actively participate in regular safety training and testing 
  • Learn to operate production equipment and systems according to established procedures 
  • Assist in monitoring the efficiency of production processes via computerized systems and visual inspection 
  • Perform plant inspections and quality control tests under supervision 
  • Keep accurate logs of activities, shutdowns, abnormal operations, troubleshooting, and problem areas 
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management 
Qualifications  
  • Recent high school graduate – must be over 18  
  • Strong interest in clean energy, manufacturing, maintenance, or agriculture 
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team environment 
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Commitment to safety and following established procedures 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training 
  • Flexibility to work shifts as directed by the Plant Manager 
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Vocational or technical education related to manufacturing, maintenance, or agriculture 
  • Experience working in a plant or agricultural setting 
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and maintenance duties 
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements  
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs 
  • Able to climb fixed and movable ladders up to 35 feet high 
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces as needed and performing overhead work 
  • Ability to repetitively lift, bend, kneel, walk, and climb daily 
  • Willingness to wear and appropriately use all required personal protective equipment
