The Plant Operator will provide support in the following areas:</font></span></p> <ul> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Operation and maintenance of all water supply pumping and treatment facilities and equipment<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Regulatory compliance with State of Maine Drinking Water </font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Regulations and the Safe Drinking Water Act<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Customer satisfaction and water quality <br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Watershed and wellhead protection and land management</font></span></li></ul> <p> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">The Plant operator will perform a wide variety of duties and tasks related to operating and maintaining a public water treatment system, including:</font></span></p> <ul> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Operation, repair and maintenance of all treatment plant equipment, SCADA control system and pumping stations.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Inspection and housekeeping of all facilities to insure a safe, clean and presentable water production environment.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Collection of all necessary water samples required for compliance with federal and state regulations and for operational analyses.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Collection and reporting of all water production and water quality information necessary for regulatory compliance and company records.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Select, order, receive, dispense, and record the use of water treatment chemicals. Insure availability and distribution of proper safety equipment and MSDS information for chemical handling.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Maintain and administer an Emergency Response Plan for each facility and train others for implementation of the plan if necessary.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Monitor water supplies and manage lake levels and well levels to insure uninterrupted service to customers and efficient use of water resources.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Implement watershed and wellhead protection programs, including risk identification and assessment, land use monitoring, forestry management, land acquisition, public access policies and routine inspections.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Monitor regulatory activity that may impact treatment techniques or current operations at water production facilities.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Assist in planning for capital improvements at each facility in anticipation of new water quality regulations.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Assist and train other operators and standby duty personnel.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Be available for standby duty and on-call emergency response on the monthly schedule established by the Chief Plant Operator.<br></font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Respond to water quality concerns from customers.</font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">Grounds keeping at company facilities and over mains, services and other areas.</font></span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: Garamond;"> <font size="4">The Company is committed to providing a safe workplace.
